III. COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). This processing and loadout site has been <br /> inactive since June 2001 after the closure of the Lorencito Mine (#C-96-084). Ground <br /> conditions were generally dry. The area had received additional snow since the last <br /> inspection but most had melted off with the exception of the shaded areas. <br /> Hydrologic Balance <br /> Pumping mine water to Pond 001 was observed on April 20, 2009. The source of the mine <br /> water was the new borehole location, shown below, located northeast of the Industrial <br /> Building. The mine water is directed to the pond via welded black plastic pipe to the <br /> northeast corner of Pond 001. <br /> 3 <br />
