• Baseline Technical
Report
ARCADIS
Report for Soils and
Biological Resources,
Cresson Mine Life Extension
Project Area
2.0 INTRODUCTION
The MLE requires that CC&V address baseline data collection, analysis, and reporting
for soils and growth medium resources, vegetation resources, and wildlife resources in
support of the extension request. The resource assessments were conducted for the
proposed extension within a designated MLE Project Boundary (approximately 700
acres), which is also referenced in this report as the "Study Area" and is shown on
Figure 1-1.
The baseline resource information collected and summarized in this Technical Report
is based on the following:
• Compilation, analysis and evaluation of all existing baseline data for resources
gathered for the Study Area (i.e., 1984, 1985, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2007);
• Teller County Land Use Regulations applicable to the proposed MLE; and
• "Hard Rock/Metal Mining Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board (CMLRB)," Section 6. - "Specific Exhibit Requirements -
Regular 112 and 112d Designated Mining Operation."
As a result of the most recent analysis and evaluation of previous baseline data for
resources (1999 and earlier) by ARCADIS, additional baseline data were collected in
2007, including field surveys and data collection. The results of this additional work are
discussed in the following sections of this Technical Report.
•
CCV Final Technical Report (3-28-08).doc 2
