5. Elevations given for NEW-2, NEW-3 and NEW-4 in Table 1.2-3 have been <br />modified to agree with the graphs of water levels shown by Figures 3.2-4. <br />6. With the adjustment of surface elevations to NEW-2 and NEW-4 noted <br />above, water level changes over time correlate closely. NEW-3 water <br />levels are not influenced by changes in levels at NEW-2 and New-4 until <br />water levels reached 7,115 foot (CF&I) elevation at which time water began <br />to flow toward the NEW-3 area. This flow resulted in the water level <br />stabilizing at NEW-2 and NEW-4. <br />The difference in conductivity between NEW-2 and NEW-4 has been <br />noted. A possible cause for this phenomenon may be that the mine area <br />around NEW-4 was sealed and flooded much earlier (possibly in the <br />1970's) than the NEW-2 area.
