Site 2
Portable meteorological station along the northwestern permit boundary of the Cresson Project (--850'
south of the south end of Silver Street in Cripple Creek). This location is approximately 38 degrees
44'42.00" and 105 degrees 10'05.95" W at approximately 9600" elevation. Site 3
Near the northwestern permit boundary of the Cresson Project along County Road 82 (--1800'
northeast of the Molly Kathleen Mine) and 150 ft. north of CR82. This location is approximately 38
degrees 45' 19.35" N and 105 degrees 09' 16.50" W at approximately 10,160' elevation.
Quest 2900 Sound Analyzer, s/n CDD070021
June 21 to June 26, 2007 - Run Time: 123 hours
June 26 to July 5, 2007 - Instrument Malfunction
July 7 to July 12, 2007 - Run Time: 123 hours
July 12 to July 23 - Run Time: 261 hours
July 23 to August 7, 2007 - Run Time: 360 hours
Total Run Time at Site 3 - 867 hours
Figures labeled 1 a thru 3f in Appendix A are a graphical presentation of the noise level on an hour by
hour average dB(A) for the total time of 3718 hours. A heavy solid line along the middle of each graph's
timeline corresponds to the nighttime hours of 7:00pm to the following 7:00am. Each horizontal tic mark
corresponds to three hours. The dotted and dashed lines at the bottom of the graphs are the maximum
and average wind speed. It can be seen that there is a reasonable degree of correlation between
maximum wind speed and higher noise levels keeping in mind that the wind data were that recorded at
the Poverty Gulch meteorological station located near Measurement Site 2. Higher levels that do not
correlate to wind events are probably caused by thunder or motor vehicles nearby.
Rev # EDI Job No. C3616
3925 S.
