• Cameron Mine and Pinnacle Park
The Cameron Mine Is included In site 5TL1885 which is the Cameron townsite. This site is
located within the draina-e and surrounding slopes of Grassy Creek in an area east of the historic
Hoosier Mine. The townsite included both residential and commercial structures and was
platted. Some remaining mining structures include a collapsed headframe (Feature 125), a
blacksmith shop (Feature 128), a hoist house (Feature 129), and a shed (Feature 130). These
features are small wood frame structures with corrugated sheet metal roofs and appear to be in
marginal condition for relocation. Although the Cameron townsite was fully mapped, individual
structures were not fully surveyed.
Pinnacle Park was an amusement park associated with the town of Cameron. Remaining
features of Pinnacle Park include remnants in two area of animal containment features, locally
called the "hear caves".
This site may be impacted by the proposed East Cresson Overburden Storage Area.
•
0
Cameron Mine Buildings
