• 10.4 Blast (Seismic) Monitoring
Previously agreed upon commitments by CC&V for monitoring of blasting
activities and effects will be continued as part of the MLE activities. The two
agreements pertinent to blast monitoring are:
• CC&V will monitor ground motion in the vicinity of the Main Cresson
Mine and North Cresson Mine area during production blasting until
sufficient information is collected to affirm that sensitive structures are not
subjected to a ppv of >0.5 ips stet.
• CC&V has installed two permanent seismographic blast monitoring sites
within the City of Victor.
• CC&V has installed one permanent seismograph blast monitoring site
within the town of Goldfield.
• • CC&V will install an additional permanent seismograph monitor in the
City of Cripple Creek.
Existing monitoring has verified blasting projections, and supplemental
operations under the MLE will not negatively impact neighboring communities.
MLE operations will be in compliance with standards. These monitors will
continue to be operated for the Cresson Project unless a specific request is made
to the OMLR to halt monitoring at any location.
• Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension
10-9
