• certain project components. In those instances where the submittal of further
information is warranted, CC&V will provide Issued For Construction ("IFC")
drawings and appropriate supporting documentation (e.g., calculations, narrative
explanations) to the OMLR containing design details and changes that are based
on site specific conditions and constraints. Comparable to Amendment No. 8
activities, submittal of the IFC drawings and any supporting information is not
expected to require new approvals but is intended merely to ensure that the
OMLR is aware of the phased implementation of the MLE activities. It is
recognized that certain design changes may require OMLR review and approval
as more detailed information is provided pursuant to approved MLE. It also is
recognized that if the OMLR determines that any proposed change will be of such
a nature to diminish the ability of the structure to protect persons, property, or the
environment, the OMLR may require the appropriate information or revision.
As with construction of previous phases, CC&V will employ the services of a
qualified quality assurance contractor during the construction of VLF
components. Reviews, inspections, and applicable testing of specific elements of
the VLF component construction will be carried out to ensure adherence to
• construction specifications. Technical Specifications for construction of Phase 5
are presented in Appendix 8.
6.4 Ore Loading
Haul trucks will be filled at the LOB or directly haul run of mine ore from the mine areas
to the VLF. The loaded haul trucks transport the ore to designated areas on the VLF
where end dumping and spreading by dozers is conducted.
CC&V will maintain an overall ore slope of 1.6H:1 V on perimeter slopes against
upsloping ground during operations as currently approved for other areas of the VLF.
Overall operational slopes on ore side slopes against downsloping ground will be
maintained at 2.5H:1 V and operational slopes above the Phase 5 PSSA embankment will
be maintained at 2.OH:1 V.
6.5 Solution Application
Pregnant solution from the enrichment tanks (see Section 7.0) or barren solution is
pumped from the ADR facility to the Phase 5 VLF in a 24-inch diameter HDPE or steel
pipelines, referred to as headers, located entirely within the lined portion of the VLF.
These pipelines branch into a series of 12-inch diameter HDPE pipes connected to six-
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension
6-10
