• The liner system within the PSSA will be the same as the PSSA liner systems <br />previously approved for the Phases I, Il, and IV PSSAs. That is, the liner system <br />will consist of a minimum of one-foot thick SLF, overlain by a 100-mil LLDPE <br />geomembrane liner (textured on both sides), overlain by three feet of low volume <br />solution collection system ("LVSCS") fill, overlain by a 100-mil smooth LLDPE, <br />overlain by a minimum two feet of DCF, with thicker DCF over primary solution <br />collection pipes. <br />The PSSA embankment slope will be graded to 2H:1V in the embankment fill. <br />The liner system on this slope will consist of a minimum of one-foot thick SLF, <br />overlain by a 100-mil LLDPE geomembrane liner textured on both sides, overlain <br />by three feet of LVSCS fill, overlain by a 100-mil geomembrane liner textured on <br />both sides, overlain by two feet of DCF. <br />6.2.4 High Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) <br />The HVSCS provides a means to collect and route process solutions from the ore <br />storage area to the PSSA. The HVSCS for Phase 5 will be similar to the system <br />approved for Phase IV as part of Amendment No. 8 and will consist of 24 inches <br />of free draining DCF, supplemented with a solution collection piping system <br />placed directly over the upper geomembrane liner at the base of the DCF. <br />Additional information, drawings and technical specifications for the HVSCS can <br />be found in Appendix 8, Volumes V and VI of this document. <br />Within the Phase 5 area, the primary solution pipes will consist of three 26-inch <br />DR 11 perforated high density polyethylene ("HDPE") pipes located along the <br />bottom of the Phase 5 VLF PSSA. These pipes are sized to accommodate flows of <br />6,000 gpm each under gravity flow conditions. Secondary solution collection <br />pipes, which will vary in size from 8- to 15-inch diameter perforated corrugated <br />polyethylene ("PCPE") pipe, will direct solution collected from 4-inch diameter <br />tertiary pipes that are on 90-foot typical centers into the primary solution <br />collection pipes. <br />Solutions within the Phase 5 VLF PSSA will report to the solution collection <br />sump and to the solution recovery riser system.
