J- z3 ?1

Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
A Joint Venture - ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (COLORADO) CORP., Manager
Operations Office
P.O. Box 191 • 100 North 3rd Street
Victor, Colorado 80860
(719) 689-2977 - Fax (719) 689-3254
Hand Delivered
April 15, 2008
Mr. Berhan Keffelew
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Office of Mined Land Reclamation
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: CRESSON PROJECT, PERMIT M-1980-244
MINE LIFE EXTENSION
Dear Mr. Keffelew:
Enclosed please find one original and four copies of an application for a revision to the Cresson
Project referred to as the Mine Life Extension (MLE). The application consists of seven (7)
volumes of material. The original application contains an original signed application form with
the corporate seal, maps signed by a qualified professional and large scale design drawings of the
proposed changes to the valley leach facility (VLF) signed and stamped by a registered
professional engineer. The other four sets contain copies of the application form and 11"X17"
versions of the stamped and signed VLF drawings. We believe that the 11"X17" drawings are
equally as readable as the larger version, but wanted to provide one larger version for ease of
your review. For ease of review each application contains a table which lists the applicable
requirements of the "Mineral Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board for Hard Rock, Metal and Designated Mining Operations" and lists where the required
information can be found in the seven volume application to satisfy each requirement.
The Mine Life Extension is an extension of existing operations at the Cresson Project to allow
mining to continue for an additional four years beyond the current completion of mining in 2012.
The application uses design standards that have been approved in the past by the Office of Mined
Land Reclamation ("OMLR") and does not propose any changes to these design standards. As a
f . result, the application may include certain previously approved documents for ease of review by
the OMLR.
