Russell Means RECLAMATION MINING it SAFETY
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
101 South 3rd Street, Suite 301
Grand Junction, CO 81501 and via email to Russ.Means@state.co.us
RE: Nuvemco, LLC's Monogram Mine, File No. M-1978-222UG
Conversion CN-01, Response to Final Issues
Dear Mr. Means,
We received your letter dated April 13, 2009 regarding final issues prior to decision on the Monogram
Mine permit conversion. I have responded to Allen Sorenson's review under separate cover stating that
Nuvemco will defer design on ore runoff retention design and we are in the process of re-designing the
sediment trap/detention pond.
Sue Carter with Nuvemco has sent a written acceptance of the final reclamation liability estimate for the
Monogram Mine. They are in the process of obtaining the bond and anticipate submitting it concurrent
with the new design for the staging area detention pond.
Nuvemco would also like to have this permit classified with intermittent status in accordance with Rule
1.13.7. The reason for this request is that seasonal conditions, market fluctuations or milling contracts
could potentially restrict mining for 180 days or more. Nuvemco will adhere to all the requirements of
Temporary Cessation of the mining operations.
Again, we appreciate your assistance in processing Nuvemco's Monogram Mine conversion to a DMO on
their patented mining claims and the Monogram Mine..
Sincerely,
O&G Environmental Consulting, LLC
E.
