Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DBMS) is finalizing the review of the above referenced conversion
of the Monogram Mine from a 110(2) to a 112d(1) permit. Please find attached the review from DRMS staff
engineer Allen Sorenson. Allen notes four issues that must be clarified or corrected. Through telephone
discussions O&G is working on addressing those issues currently.
With those issues being addressed it appears that there are only a few minor issues from the Division that need to
be documented and clarify. First the Division has not received any type of formal acceptance of the reclamation
liability estimate. Please provide some type of written documentation that the bond calculations are accepted.
Staff and O&G have discussed including an Intermittent Status clause per Rule 1.13.7. Please provide the
documentation and request for Intermittent Status per the rule and discussions.
Staff as a matter of expedience has traded several a-mails regarding the above referenced issues. However it was
noted at the time that to finalize the application process the issues would have to be addressed by hard copy.
Please ensure to follow up this letter with a hard copy for the official file.
At this time it appears these are the final issues that need to be addressed prior to a decision being rendered.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
C, 1
.? v
G.
