• stems per acre and composed entirely of native shrubs. Big sagebrush (Seriphidium tridentatum)
and mountain snowberry (Symphoricarpos rotundifolius) were the most abundant, with 155 and
94 stems per acre respectively. This background level exceeds the standard of 200 stems per
acre.
SHRUB CONCENTRATION AREA DENSITIES
Tables 20 through 49 contain the data resulting from the sampling of shrub concentration areas at
the Seneca IN Mine in 2008. Average shrub density values ranged from 41 stems per acre
(Block C2) to 13,395 stems per acre (Block W). The overall area - weighted density for shrub
concentration areas is 2.400 stems per acre. The total area covered by these areas is 71.3
acres.
•
LJ
Seneca IIW 2008

Shrub Concentration
Block Mean Woody
Plant Density
(stems/acre)
% of Affected Aread
A 445.2 2.6
AA 1497.4 2.8
B 5665.7 3.8
BB 4087.4 1.7
C 538.2 3.3
C2 40.5 2.6
D 364.2 0.4
E 2772.1 3.2
F 647.5 2.0
G 1214.1 4.6
H 1092.7 2.3
J 5261.0 3.3
K 1537.8 4.2
L 5544.3 1.5
M 2804.5 2.8
N 80.9 1.0
O 364.2 2.0
P 607.0 0.9
15
