Reconnaissance Level Znvestiaation. All other streams in
the proposed lease area and associated adjacent area are minor
ephemeral streams. These streams were observed to be narrow,
steep and to contain very little alluvium. None of these valleys
met the size criteria (50 feet wide, 10 acres in size and smaller
than areas commonly developed in the region) presented in the
Alluvial Valley Floor Guidelines (Department of Interior, Office
of Surface Mining, 1980).
