The information necessary for making <br />AVF determinations for Rapid Creek have been presented in the <br />previous discussion in Section 2. <br />In summary, terrace landforms associated with Rapid Creek <br />(Tl, T2, T3 terraces) have been identified in the Rapid <br />Creek Valley. The history of irrigation on the TZ and T3 <br />terraces indicate that sufficient water of suitable quality is <br />available from Rapid Creek and that the soils are suitable to <br />support flood irrigated agriculture. Shallow groundwaters are <br />not available for subirrigation of agriculturally important <br />species along the Rapid Creek Valley. <br />Colorado River <br />Geomorphic Mapping. The purpose of this part is to <br />• provide a delineation of all landforms associated with the <br />Colorado River valley which meet the geomorphic criteria for <br />alluvial valley floors according to the OSM Alluvial Valley Floor <br />Guideline (1980). <br />All terrace landforms associated with the Colorado River <br />have been mapped on Map 2, although the individual terrace levels <br />have not been individually delineated. Map 2 is intended to <br />include all landforms which have a history of irrigated u'se or <br />which have the potential to be irrigated in association with <br />other Colorado River valley bottomland. <br />The high terraces at the mouth of Rapid Creek are littered <br />with remnant gravels from the Colorado River indicating the river <br />• <br />7 <br />
