Pond PP-1 contained water, although no discharge was noted. PP-1 is a concrete pond and J appeared to be stable with no problems noted at the time of the inspection. Pond PP-2 contained water with no discharge noted. Embankments were stable and well vegetated with no problems noted. The fresh water lagoon contained water, although not discharging at the time of the inspection. The lagoon was snow covered and stable with no problems noted at the time of the inspection. Pond RP-1 was dry at the time of the inspection. Embankments were snow covered and stable at the time of the inspection Pond RP-2/3 contained water in the upper cells and the lower cell at the time of the inspection. No discharge was noted. The embankments appeared stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. Pond RP-4 contained water with no discharge at the time of the inspection. The pond embankments appeared stable. No problems were noted with the spillways at the time of the inspection. Pond RP-5a contained water with no discharge noted. The primary/emergency spillway found to be incompliance with no problems noted. The embankments were snow covered and stable. Pond RR-1 was dry at the time of the inspection. Embankments were stable with no problems noted. Primary riser and emergency spillway found to be in compliance. Pond SS-1 contained water, with no discharge at the time of the inspection. Embankments appeared stable and well vegetated with no signs of damage. Pond SS-2 was dry at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. Embankments appeared stable with good vegetation throughout. Roadside ditches appeared to be in compliance with no problems noted. Facilities area ditches appeared to be in compliance and no problems were noted with the exception of the following: • The diversion ditch at the entrance to the CSP to the DP-1 pond will need to be cleared of debris. Explosives Deserado Mine installed a 4'X4'X4' prefabricated Type II explosives magazine with associated cap magazine at the explosive storage site. This magazine is for temporary storage of explosives, which is permitted in the Deserado permit. Deserado Mine supplied the information for the magazine to the ATF and provided a copy to the Division during the inspection. Processing Waste Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 was snow covered and well compacted and stable at the time of the inspection. Grading appeared to allow good run-off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile - 5 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches. Coal Mine Waste was being stockpiled at RP-5a at the time of the inspection. Support Facilities Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. No problems were noted. The area around the rock dust tank RDH-2 was stable at the time of the inspection with no problems noted. The load out area was stable at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted.
