to a computer analysis which utilized a modified Bishop Method to determine the
slope stability of the material.
The results of the computer analysis indicated that with the existing 2:1
~J
side slopes, the pile has a computed safety factor of approximately 1.05. This
is not acceptable and slope failures are probable. Additional analysis was
completed which assumed side slopes of 2-1/2:1 and 3:1 in order to determine
the effects of flattening the slopes. These results indicate a safety factor of
approximately 1.53 and 1.48 respectively. The results of the computer analysis
are included in Appendix B.
LJ
