Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Reve.etq ation
As described in recent reports, there is good establishment of seeded shrubs in most areas, and good
establishment of both seeded grasses and shrubs along the reclaimed access road to the upper
bench. Areas disturbed in association with the planned stabilization project described above will be
roughened and seeded with an appropriate perennial seed mix. The seedmix to be used is very
similar to the mix used on portions of the site in 2000, which proved to be quite successful in most
areas. The planned seedmix is:
Species Variety PLS Pounds per Acre
Rubber rabbitbrush(Chrysothamnus nauseousus) 0.2
Fourwing saltbush(Atriplex canescens) Rincon 4.0
Shadscale saltbush(Atriplex confertifolia) 4.0
Western wheatgrass(Agropyron smithii) Arriba 6.0
Indian ricegrass(Oryzopsis hymenoides) Paloma 3_0
Total 17.2
One small area(+/-) '/z acre on the#2 portal backfill will be roughened and seeded in
October/November 2009. Additional areas will be reseeded at that time as warranted based on
evaluation of initial establishment from the spring seeding.
Fish and Wildlife
There was considerable deer and elk sign and evidence of recent browsing (particularly on
rabbitbrush shrubs).
