4. Irrigation Water
Currently there is irrigation water crossing the property but is only used to irrigate the Simmons
property. The irrigation water flows from east to west. The irrigation ditches supply water to the
small ridges of the irrigated field, to where the water floods the pasture and excess water is
removed with the drainage ditches. The location and flow direction of these ditches is shown on
Map C-1. The fields that are to the south of the disturbed area will continue to be irrigated. The
irrigation water that supplied the northern portion of the property will be blocked in the mining
area during mining. During the reclamation of the site, a grouted channel will be installed to get
irrigation water from the top of the 3H:1 V slopes to the bottom. See Map F for the location of the
channel. The water right for the water in the stock ponds is included in the property deed which
is included in Appendix A. A lease between Four Corners Materials and the land owner is
included in Appendix A.
5. Water Consumption for the Operation
Water consumption for both during mining and after mining is addressed in the Wright Water
Report which is located in Appendix B. All water to be used during the operation will come from
the stock pond on the property. Water rights information is also included in the Wright Water
Report.
Simmons Pit, March 2009 G-2
