MINING PLAN
1. General Mining Plan
EXHIBIT D
The access to the site will be directly from HWY 160. An access road will be constructed within
the permit area that will connect HWY 160 to the facilities area. See Map C-2 for the extents of
mining.
Table D-1 Mining Area Material Table
Mining Area Acreage Topsoil C.Y. Overburden C.Y. Gravel tons
Mining Area 1 4.56 7,356 41,556 107,611
Mining Area 2 6.33 10,212 66,514 129,809
Mining Area 3 5.42 8,744 .43,318 130,759
Minin Area 4 4.61 7,437 43,398 170,882
Mining Area 5 4.14 6,679 86,607 166,611
Mining Area 6 5.32 8,582 97,273 205,924
Mining Area 7 6.11 9,857 85,165 206,202
Mining Area 8 4.81 7,760 50,578 143,189
Total 36.49 58,867 463,831 1,117,798
The material volumes described in Table D-1 are approximate but are based on exploration
drilling that was conducted on site. Note that the areas above only include mining areas. The
anticipated total disturbed area for the operation consists of 46.07 acres. The additional
disturbance comes from the access road (0.74 acres) and the stockpiles (4.03 acres).
Topsoil will be stripped prior to mining each year. Overburden will be removed at the same time
as the topsoil but will be handled separately. Topsoil and overburden will be stockpiled or
directly replaced depending on the portion of the mining area being mined. Details of the
overburden and topsoil handling are shown in Table D-2 and also in Exhibit E - Reclamation
Plan. Gravel will be directly loaded into the crusher by a loader or will be hauled to crusher from
the mining face in a truck. A dozer may be used at the mining face to loosen the gravel for the
loader. Stockpiles of crushed rock will be placed in Mining Area 1 which is also the Facilities
Area. These crushed product stockpiles will allow mining to cease for portions of the year and
allow the plant to operate through out the year.
Simmons Pit, March 2009 D-1
