Wildlife Protection <br />...All highly radioactive ore exposures on the described Monogram Mine (Knob and Pit) will be <br />removed. The open adits in the Pit area and on the Knob will be removed in the mining process <br />and effectively closed, leaving a safer terrain and full reclamation to wildlife habitat and <br />recreational use. <br />Rule 8, EnicMency R wnse Plan: <br />DRMS should be included in Phase 1, Part b) ii) for contact within 24 hours. <br />Revised as follows: <br />ii) Non-Emergency Response Off-Site Entities and Regulatory Agencies <br />For Reportable Quantity (RQ) spills add: <br />Colorado Department of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />Under Section C, Phase 3, Remediation: a) it should be noted that any remediation plan shall be submitted as a <br />Technical Revision to the Division for review and approval. It is understood that emergency measures must <br />always dictate the protection of human life, health and the envirorunent first. Thus once the situation is stable <br />the regulatory aspects can be addressed. <br />Revised as follows: <br />a) Clean-Up <br />General guidelines for clean-up activities at spill and fire locations are listed below. All <br />such plans will be submitted as a Technical Revision to the DRMS for review and approval. <br />Additional DRMS Staff review: <br />1) The rock geochernistry testing that is written into the EPP should include not only the initial, pre-mining <br />round, but also periodic testing through the life of mine to assess changes in the waste rock and ore <br />geochemistry with depth. <br />Please revise EXHIBIT T, 1. General Plan, paragraph 2 as follows: <br />...Both the ore and waste rocks are currently exposed at the surface and chemical analyses of <br />each are included in Appendix B. Periodic testing will be done to assess changes in the waste <br />rock and ore geochemistry with depth and results submitted to the DRMS. <br />17
