Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 6, 2007, an application to <br />renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Hayden Gulch Loadout was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Hayden Gulch Terminal, Inc. proposes to continue Other coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land <br />located approximately 2 miles Southeast of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br />Portions of. El/2 Sec. 10, W1/2 Sec. 14, El/2E1/2 Sec. 15, NE 1 /4 Sec. 22, N W 1 /4N W 1 /4 Sec. 23, <br />Township 6 North, Range 88 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Mount Harris. <br />This is an application for permit renewal RN-3. <br />Because the above referenced permit renewal application would incorporate additional lands into the permit <br />area or might otherwise alter previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are <br />requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposal. Your comments and concerns relating to the adequacy <br />of fish and wildlife resources information, the fish and wildlife plan, and the reclamation plan as it relates to <br />fish and wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or endangered species, are <br />requested.
