There is a good survival and uniform distribution of the seeded species across this site. Both
cover and production of perennial grasses remains below that of native rangelands. Production
values of perennial grasses, forbs and shrubs have all made substantial gains from levels
recorded in 2007. Substantial reductions in cover and production of annual grasses and weedy
forbs occurred in 2008. No annual grasses were encountered within the study area in 2008.Cover
of shrubs declined 1.3% from levels recorded in 2007 but remain above levels measured for
native rangelands in 2008.
The following statements compare the values measured in 2008 for Well Pad 3A-4H to the
reclamation goals/requirements:
• The production of perennial grasses is 70 % nearing the requirement of being equal of
that measured on native rangeland. The production of perennial forbs is 13 % greater than
that on native rangeland exceeding the requirement.
• The cover of all perennial herbaceous species exceeds that of native rangeland by 12 %
exceeding the requirement of being equal of that measured on native rangeland. The
cover of perennial grasses in 2008 increased 17 % from 2008 but remain below cover
values measured on native rangeland. The substantial increase in cover of perennial fortis
in 2008 kept cover of perennial herbaceous species above native rangeland values.
