• The composition of perennial forbs exceeds that of native rangeland by 8 %; substantially
greater than the required 4 % of that measured on native rangeland.
• The composition of shrubs is 61 % of that on native rangeland; substantially greater than
the required 12 % of that measured on native rangeland.
All the reclamation goals/requirements are being met or exceeded at this site with the exception
of production from perennial grasses and forbs. It is likely the site will achieve the requirements
within a few years without additional reclamation efforts as perennial species continue to mature
and increase their production.
Well Pad Site 3A-4H: The ground cover data in Table 7 is summarized by class of vegetation
and cover type from data presented by plant species or cover type in Appendix Table A3. The
production data presented in Table 8 is summarized from the annual above-ground vegetation
biomass production for each plant species as shown in Appendix Table A3. The species
composition data presented in Table 9 is summarized by class of vegetation from the percent
composition of each plant species encountered as determined by each species contribution to
total biomass production as shown in Appendix Table A3.
The following tables compare the data collected in 2008 for well pad site 3A-4H to data
collected from previous years as well as data collected in 2008 from nearby native rangelands.
Table 7 - Reclaimed Well Pad 3A-4H Ground Cover (%),
July 2008
Cover Type 2007 2008 2008 Native
Rangeland Change
2007 to 2008 Difference
2008 w/ Native
Perennial Grasses 19.4 23.5 27.70 + 17 % -15%
Perennial Forbs 8.4 15.5 6.65 +46% +57%
Annual Grasses 0.4 0.0 1.40 - 100 % - 100 %
Weedy Forbs 1.7 0.2 0.75 -88% -73%
Shrubs 22.8 22.5 19.80 -1.3% +12%
Moss/Lichens 0.0 0.0 9.40 no change no change
Vegetative Litter 4.1 7.9 13.15 +48% -39%
Bare Ground 36.2 25.0 21.15 -31% +15%
Rock 7.0 5.4 0.00 -23% n/a
2008 Annual Report 19 of 28
