Otherwise I will await receipt
' of your completion report documenting the spill incident and your
clients response to it, including the final disposal of the stabilized
slurry.
' Walter Avramenko, Unit Leader
Hazardous Waste Corrective Action Unit
' Solid and Hazardous Waste Program
Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
' HMWMD-HWC-B2
4300 Cherry Creek Drive South
Denver, CO 80246-1530
303-692-3362
' FAX: 303-759-5355
walter.avramenko@state.co.us
' >>> "Norm Higley" <normhigley@nwhlaw.com> 01/11/07 11:55 AM >>>
Walter:
1
' Here is the plan for the Bayfield Ponds slurry trench issue, as we
discussed
by telephone:
' * E-21 has conducted a treatability study for stabilization of
the
benzene-contaminated slurry in the trench. The slurry and trench
sidewall
' materials were homogenized during excavation. The resulting benzene
concentrations (total B) were then below the 20x TCLP factor. Cement
was
' then added to further stabilize the material for pre-loading. The
resulting
total benzene concentration was well below the 20x TCLP factor.
' Samples
6/9/2007
