• Moving the location of dewatering trenches or pumps to locations at greater distances from
affected wells.
PRE-RECLAMATION SITE MODELING AND POST-RECLAMATION IMPACTS
Prior to reclamation of the site, which will include water storage facilities, it may be necessary to
perform further modeling based on recorded monitoring data in an attempt to better demonstrate
the long-term impacts to the outwash aquifer.
Based on the results of the present study, it is expected that some mounding on the up-gradient
side of the lined pit will occur. The mounding would be most acute on the northwest and west sides
of the liner. Due to the influx of ground water flow from the northwest, a perimeter drain may be
necessary to protect any up-gradient structures, as well as the stability of the pit liner itself.
Adverse impacts from shadowing effects are not anticipated on the down-gradient side of the lined
pit. This is partially because there are no structures that could be impacted by the shadowing, but
also due to the fact that the close proximity with the Arkansas River will help to alleviate any
possible shadowing. The only structure located down-gradient of the site appears to be the existing
rail line running parallel to the river. The rail grade should not be adversely impacted by a slight
decrease in the prevailing ground water table following reclamation.

Parkdale Aggregate Mine I Conclusions and Recommendations ?
