1W MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT

For Season 2008
TOPAZ MOUNTAIN GEM MINE
PERMIT NO. M-2002-003
Summary:
12 March 2009
I operated Topaz Mountain Gem Mine from 3 May through 8 May and again, 1 Aug through 6
Aug using a small backhoe and mechanical shaker. Additionally, I conducted hand operations
with the mechanical shaker another 10 days to process already stock-piled gravel. Numerous
unauthorized diggers continue to mineral trespass and dig holes throughout the season when I am
not present on site.
Map Depicting 2008 Operations:
Attached is a map depicting current and existing disturbances on Rubeck Placer and Rubeck
Placer No. 2 claims. Current and existing disturbances are indicated by red-dotted lines.
Current Disturbances 2008:
Site C was expanded to 3,400 square feet (0.08 acre) total disturbance. Approximately an
additional 1,600 square feet was disturbed by unauthorized mineral trespass.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2008 Reclamation):
None of the current disturbances (2006 or 2007) have been reclaimed. The area of disturbance
(Site C) is an ongoing excavation for a total of 7,850 square feet (0.18 acre) disturbance.
There is approximately 10,000 square feet (0.23 acre) total of unauthorized dig sites which will
be reclaimed as I continue mining. All are within the permit site.
Reclamation Accomplished during 2_ 008:
About 3,200 square feet (0.07 acre) where existing platforms and waste piles had been was
reclaimed. Additionally, all soil storage piles have been reseeded.
Some unauthorized digs were filled, especially in and around boulders to lesson safety problems.
Proposed 2009 Operations
Mechanized operations will again consist of two sessions, approximately the first week in May
and the last week of September. Hand digging and screening of mined material using a
mechanized shaker will occur throughout the summer. Some of the north edge of the excavation
may be filled and reseeded.
