Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
Water:
Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map, shows the anticipated extent of final exposed
groundwater in acres based upon present day elevations of the existing 26.26± acre
pond. The combined maximum extent of exposed groundwater is 128.4± acres
from combined Tracts A and C, plus 7.0± acres from Tract B, or a Total of 135.4±
acres.
Of the 26.26± acre pond, fill (6720.29± sq.ft.) has been placed to establish a proper
buffer distance of 100.00± feet between the pond edge and the Cache La Poudre
River. Additional fill (5805.83± sq.ft.) has been placed along a portion of the West
bank of the pond, and additional fill will be placed along the perimeter of the
existing well (8934.29± sq.ft.) to establish a final buffer for oil well operations of
100.00± feet. For purposes of calculation, the 26.26± acres of the existing pond
are utilized.
Since Basin Area is greater than the actual area of exposed ground water, the
calculation for potential exposed groundwater is the basin area less 12 percent.
This is conservative, as the 11.61 planned extraction area of Tract B results in a
7.0± acre pond, which is a factor significantly greater than 12 percent of the basin
area.
The approved substitute supply plan of 10 July 2003 (Colorado Office of the State
Engineer, refer to Exhibit H - Water Information) provides for the following acres
of exposed groundwater:
79.20± Acres Post 1980 water
44.60± Acres Pre- 1981 water
1.28± April Storage (3.44 AF _ 2.68 = 1.28 surface acres)
125.08± Total Surface Acres of Exposed Groundwater available for Extraction
26.26± Tract C - Exposed Groundwater
11.84± Tract D - Area to be Backfilled - Projected Groundwater Extent
37.05± Tract A - Completed Extraction Area
15.68± Tract A - Active Area of Extraction
17.73± Tract A - Projected Area of Extraction
108.56± Total Surface Acres Demand (2003 to the completion of Tract A)
Varra Companies, Inc.
