Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
$32,199.38 to replace soil over the existing affected lands remaining above the
anticipated final water level.
There is some additional soil resource that was unidentified within Tract D.
Combined with all other soil, at the Completion of all extraction and fill activities,
'it is estimated that stockpiles 1-4 and in-situ soils will be adequate to meet the
actual end of mine soil needs of the site, eventually liberating nearly all, or all, of
stockpile # 6 for sale.
Establishment of Vegetation over Affected Lands:
The demand establishment of vegetation over the affected lands will also diminish
proportionately with the planned extraction of the Tracts. For now, the total
exposure is estimated as follows:
Total Affected Lands 2003:
22.14± acres Affected Lands not otherwise described on Exhibit C - Map
45.75± acres Planned Extraction on Tracts A and C
67.89± acres Total Acres.
NOTE: The vegetation demand (and related costs) will decrease proportionately
as extraction activities increase over each Tract of planned extraction. The 13.46±
acres in Tract D to be filled and re-vegetated, will be more than compensated for in
this assessment since 20.15 acres will be extracted in Tract A. alone, long before
the fill is complete at Tract D. Therefore, Tract D is accounted for via extraction
of other Tracts.
The cost for seed is shown in Exhibit L - Addendum C: Re-vegetation Seed
Mixture Costs. The costs are applied to the previously approved seed mixture as
derived from actual pls costs in 2003. The mixture is revised to include a
substitute for mulch in the inclusion of a wheatgrass hybrid. The Division has
historically agreed with and approved the inclusion of this hybrid as a substitute for
mulch. These costs are as follows:
$47.28± Dry Land Mix
$56.56± Shoreline Mix
The cost for seeding is based upon information derived in proximity to the
Northern Colorado economy. Costs for tilling, fertilizing and seeding are shown in
Exhibit L - Addendum D: Longs Peak Equipment Co. estimate. These costs,
including labor, are reflected as follows:
Varra Companies, Inc. DMG Permit M78-056 Amendment of August 2003 12
Durham - Resource Recovery and Land Development Project
