Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
Site Preparation - Dewatering, Grading AND Soil Prep (ripping) (refer to
Exhibit L - Addendum A: Volume Graphic):
Approximately 25.00± acres have been graded and soiled over extensive portions
of Tract A and C, as shown on Exhibit C - Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Map.
Additional grading demands must be accounted for as follows:
Tract D - Fill Area:
While Tract D will be filled over the life of the mine, it is presently a basin whose
slopes must be considered for grading and re-soiling. As the fill occurs from the
extraction of Tracts A, B and C, the costs for grading, and other related costs, will
decrease with time, per the completion of each Tract.
Tract C - Pond Shorelines:
The pond shorelines remaining to be graded are based upon the amount of land
above the shoreline that must be used as cut and fill. The North shoreline, opposite
the Cache La Poudre River is based upon the estimated 15 foot depth of the pond
and the need to dewater and grade that portion below the existing water line. The
West shoreline is based upon a mean height of surrounding wall of 10.0± feet at a
1H:1V slope. The South shoreline is based upon a mean height of surrounding
wall of 25.0± feet at a 1 H:1 V slope. Dewatering will allow for grading above and
below the existing water level utilizing the cut and fill method and areas reflected
in the Volume Graphic, under this exhibit. The areas of the volume graph are
applied to the perimeters of the shorelines to determine the total yards needed to
cut and fill to a 3H:1 V slope, and in determining the mean push distances for
determining costs based upon similar calculations of the Division.
The balance of Active and Planned Extraction will reduce slopes concurrently
along the perimeter. Nearly 800.0± linear feet of advancing wall for the active
operations in Tract A, and subsequent operations, is also part of this determination.
Since concurrent grading will not increase these estimates over time, the filling of
Tract D will actually serve to lower the grading exposure over time. The
determinations for grading are as follows:
DEWATERING:
Dewater 26.26± Acres
Less fill placed to date, as stated above (see Exhibit L - Water) @ 0.29± acres
Varra Companies, Inc.
