C) <br />General - This pit, which has been operating for several years, <br />consists of a wet pit with sand and gravel being excavated to a depth of <br />as much as 50 feet. A dragline excavates the sand and gravel which is <br />crushed, washed, graded and stockpiled. Dewatering is accomplished as <br />necessary by pumping into holding ponds and gravity flow into the Poudre <br />River. With the exception of the water in the pit, no surface water is <br />impounded or diverted. <br />The following references to phases and timetables are based upon an <br />assumed annual production rate of approximately 200,000 tons per year. <br />This represents a disturbance of about six acres per year. These <br />projections are subject to change*based upon market conditions and the <br />quantity and quality of product encountered as mining proceeds.
