Bagley, <br />I visited Strong Farm number 2 .gravel pit and my findings were as <br />follows: <br />' The soil that this site is located on is known as Aquolls and Aquents, <br />gravelly substratum. These soils are on the bottom lands and flood <br />plains along the major streams in this area. A description of the <br />so4.1 and properties of the soil are attached. <br />( The vegetation present at the site is mainly Kochia weed and Russian <br />thistle. There is very little inland saltgrass. The native vegetation <br />has been removed in previous years from the stripping of the topsoil <br />for commercial purposes. There are no trees present except a few small <br />cottonwoods in the gravel pits that are being worked. The vegetation <br />that will work in this area is as follows: <br />Trees <br />1 Cottonwood - Populas sargentii <br />Golden Willow - Salix vitellina aurea <br />Rocky Nountain Juniper - Juniperus scopulorum <br />Russian Olive - Elaeagnus angustifolia <br />Green Ash - Fraxinus pennsylvanica <br />Lombardy Poplar - Populas lombardi <br />Silver Maple - Acer saacharum <br />'.lillow (native) - Salix spp. <br />Thornless Honey Locust - Gleditsia triacanthos <br />Shrubs .-'? <br />Squaw Bush - [thus trilobata 1 <br />.:"flow (native) - Salix spp. <br />31i:ialo Derry - Shepherdia argentea <br />?:!?er?sn Pea free - Caragana arborescens !Ir t ?4 =,•? •, <br /> <br />
