EXHIBIT J
Vegetation Information

STRONG FARM #2
1 Essentially all of the land surface of the affected area has been
1 disturbed and very little original vegetation remains.
There is no vegetative cover at all on about half of the area. The
remainder has a fairly uniform cover of approximately 30%. Of this, one
quarter is native grasses and the rest is russian thistle and kocia
' d
.
wee
' The native vegetation on these soils is dominated by alkali sacaton,
switchgrass and western wheatgrass. Saltgrass, sedge, rush and alkali
bluegrass are also prominent. Potential production ranges from 3,000
pounds per acre in favorable years to 2,000 pounds per acre in unfavorable
( years. As range conditions deteriorate, switchgrass, alkali sacaton and
western wheatgrass decrease and saltgrass, sedge and rush increase.
Please refer to the attached letter from the USDA Soil Conservation
Service which contains information on present vegetation and potential
vegetation on the area, including specific recommendations for reseeding.
i
1
1
1
L
t

I ?
