The field investigation did not confirm the presence of terrace escarpments at any of the
sample points.
The vegetation communities investigated include a meadow vegetation community on the
Reinoehl parcel and a wet meadow vegetation community and fringe vegetation along a
tailwater ditch on the Arends parcel.
The meadow vegetation community located in the southwest corner of the Reinoehl
property is dominated by wheatgrass (Agropyron sp.) with small inclusions of cattail
(Typha latifolia), coyote willow (Salix exigua), spike rush (Eleocharis palustris), and
blowoutgrass (Redfreldia jlexuosa). Plant species surrounding this wet area consist of
predominantly upland ruderal species.
The vet meadow vegetation community on the Arends parcel includes meadow foxtail
(Hordeum juhatum), spike rush, and smartweed (Polygonum lapathifolium). Ruderal
vegetation in the wet meadow includes prickly lettuce (Lactuca serriola), bindweed
(Convolvulus arvensis), lambsquarters (Chenopodium album), plantain (Plantago major),
Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense), and red clover (Trifolium pratense). The vegetation
community along the waters edge of the ditch contains meadow foxtail, spike rush,
knotweed (Polygonum ramosissimum), inland saltgrass (Distichlis spicata), and three-
square (Scirpus americamus).
Figures 3 and 4 illustrate typical vegetation on the Reinoehl and Arends sites.
RESULTS/CONCLUSION
Savage and Savage conducted a jurisdictional wetland delineation at the proposed
Arends, Reinoehl, and Archuleta site on September 14, 2007. There were no wetlands
identified on the Reinoehl or Archuleta parcels.
