Adr%
ame
Earth & Environmental
C. Waste Rock to Stockpile
1. LOB Pad
• Ames worked in the LOB Pad early in the week placing minor excavated
material for fill placement in the LOB/Delivery Road between Station
34+50 to 38+00 left of centerline. A Komatsu 800 excavator was used in
the pad area for removal of all oversize to Waste Dump #4 (north of Joe
Dandy slash pile area). Excavation has stopped due to the cut is "non-
rippable". Rockbreakers mobilized 3 rigs to the pad site this past week after
completing the drilling in the Elkton workings and Kitty Lane Shaft. The
plan is to drill and blast the LOB pad sometime next week
2. LOB/delivery Road
• Removal of cut from Station 22+00 to 35+00 to . Waste Dump #4
commenced during the week using 3 Cat 777 Haul Trucks.
• Ames completed the widening of the construction access up to the Waste
Dump #4 (Joe Dandy slash pile).
D. Cut to Fill
1. LOB Pad
• No Activities
2. LOB/Delivery Road
• Ames continued to expand the fill placement for the LOB/Delivery Road
from Station 34+50 to 39+00 75 to 100-feet left of centerline. Fill
placement continued with approximate 24-inch loose fill lifts and
compaction using the method specification determined previously. Ames
was using 3 Volvo A40D trucks, when available, to transport fill material.
Transport now is primarily performed using the Cat 777 haul trucks. The
fill in this area has now progressed to approximate elevation 10,030+/-.
• AMEC continued observation of fill placement during the week. Fill
placement was observed to progress with no issues. The Contractor
maintained relatively uniform lifts thickness, moisture conditioning of lifts
and cutting of key-ins. Over size material was pushed outside the fill limit
and oversize from the cut is now transported to Waste Dump #4.
E. Subgrade Preparation
1. LOB Pad
• No Activities
F. SLF Processing (Material is being generated/processed for the LOB and the VLF)
1. Production of the SLF material continued intermittently at the clay plant
located at Dump 5, North end of the LOB/Delivery Road. Production was
limited however is improving due to mechanical breakdowns. A total of 12
samples were obtained during the week by AMEC for Index Testing and
Proctors.
Sheet 2 of 9
LOB Weekly Report WE 02.27.09.1)
