"
Applicant's Response:
See attached revised Mine Plan drawing (Exhibit "D".
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D-AHNING PLAN
Paragraph I "The Division assumes at this point that no incidental products will be produced and
that explosives will not be used. Please confirm that this is the case or provide additional
information if this is not the case. "
Applicant's Response:
No "incidental products" will be produced and explosives will not be used at the Morton Lakes sand
and gravel pit.
Paragraph 2 "Please describe how much, where, and how topsoil reserves will be maintained until
replaced during reclamation. "
Applicant's Response:
The amount of topsoil striped and stockpiled at any one time will be limited and done only as needed
prior to mining a given mining stage. Where possible, topsoil will be stripped and used for
reclamation concurrent with the mining process; otherwise, topsoil will be stockpiled either within or
adjacent to the active mining stage where it was removed. A typical stockpile will contain
approximately 30,000 cubic yards topsoil. If topsoil is to be stockpiled for a period greater than two
years it will be seeded (see attached topsoil seed mix) to minimize erosion and deterioration.
