Inc. <br />Carbon Junction Mitre Application for COPSO <br />Permit Termination (COG-8500-042) <br />October 24, 2008 <br />13 <br />Comments: Loretta, attached is the information we discussed yesterday <br />foryour and Greg Brand's review. 1 have enclosed the signed and completed <br />copy of the WQCD Request for Termination Form, as well as CDRM5 <br />approval forms for Technical Revision 15 and Minor Revision 6 that approve <br />removal of the sedimentation ponds at the Carbon Junction Mine. For <br />COPHE's information, final reclamation at the Carbon Junction Mine was <br />undertaken in the summer of 2006. Technical Revision 15 was submitted <br />to CORMS on November 17, 2007 with a sedimentology analysis that <br />demonstrated that revegetation and reclamation at the mine were <br />successful in returning sediment load from the mine reclaimed areas to <br />that of adjacent undisturbed areas. Technical Revision 15 was approved <br />January 29, 2008 with the stipulation that a quantitative vegetation <br />study be conducted to verify the vegetative condition used in the
