herbicide
6. For tough perennial weeds, usually tank mixed.
PICLORAM
Tordon 22K
1. Selective herbicide - effective on most broadleaf plants (annual, biennial & perennial), not grasses.
2. Translocating herbicide - primarily foliar applied, however, long residual for seedling germination control.
3. Labeled for use in pasture, rangeland and non-cropland areas, CRP, and fallow cropland (not rotated to broadleaf crops).
4. Very effective herbicide on tough perennial weeds such as; leafy spurge, Canada thistle, field bindweed and Russian knapweed.
GLYPHOSATE
Roundup
1. Non-selective herbicide - effective on most broadleaf and grass plants.
2. Translocating herbicide - g* foliar applied.
3. Many crop and non-crop labeled uses.
4. Many, labeled tank mixes.
5. When using to control tough perennial weeds timing of application is important.
CHLORSULFURON
Telar
I. Primary.selective herbicide - effective on many broadleaf plants, though may show some effects on smooth and downy brome.
2. Translocating herbicide - primarily foliar applied, though very effective in soil on germinating broadleaf plants.
3. Labeled for use only in non-crop areas and in unimproved industrial turf areas (roadsides, etc.).
4. Very effective on annual broadleaves, biennial and perennials, such as; Canada, musk and scotch thistle, Russian knapweed and the whitetops
(hoary cress and perennial pepperweed).
METSULFURON
Escort, Ally
1. Primary selective herbicide - effective on many broadleaf plants, though may effect some grasses.
2. Translocating herbicide - primarily foliar applied.
3. Escort is labeled for use in non-cropland (including industrial and unimproved turf), and range and pasture and conifer plantations.
4. Ally is labeled for use in cropland (wheat and barley), CRP and Range and Pasture.
5. Both products have a broad spectrum of activity on broadleaf plants but are particularly effective on the mustard family (tansy mustard and
whitetop) and sunflower family (Canada and musk thistle).
CLOPYRAL[D
Stinger, Transline and Curtail (Clopyralid plus 2,4-D)
http://www.co.larimer.co.us/publicworks/weeds/herbicide.htm 6/20/2005
