Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
Reclamation will occur concurrently with mining as described in Exhibit D. The
post mining land use will be agricultural with the principal use being rangeland -- the
landowner plans to continue raising bison and cattle on the area. The final planned
configuration of the area is illustrated on the Exhibit F map included herein. The
elements of the reclamation plan are given below.
Grading
The side slopes of the pit will be graded to no steeper than a ratio of 3:1 (h:v).
The pit floor will be smooth graded to form a gentle slope toward the south and
southeast (the Exhibit F map illustrates the final topography).
The final surface configuration of the lands surrounding the pit area will be
virtually identical to the existing ground surface slope and require little minor smooth
grading. In such areas the approximate original contour will occur.
Runoff Diversions and Stock Water Basin
Because of the site's topographic setting, remoteness from watercourses, and
nearly level slope, no permanent runoff control diversions are necessary. The runoff
collection area will be left in place for use as a stock water impoundment.
Soil Replacement
Topsoil will be replaced on the disturbed areas to a depth averaging about six
inches (range of four to eight inches).
Ripping of Compacted Areas
Areas compacted by vehicle traffic, such as the proccessing areas, will be
ripped to a depth ranging from about six to 12 inches. A dozer with A multi-shank
ripper will be used for this purpose.
-8-
