retention and management have already been established at the site. These
are not expected to be effected by the mining activities.
H. Water use at the site will be for dust control only. The water is supplied
through city water lines. There will not be any process water in association
with the mining as there will not be any processing facilities.
1. Groundwater is not expected to be encountered at this site. If necessary, the
disturbed area could be bermed to limit the interference with stormwater flows.
However, because this is a deposit of sand, the area percolates very well and
any stormwater that is intercepted should percolate very quickly.
I. As noted above, groundwater is not expected to be encountered. If
groundwater is encountered, mining will stop. At that point, either the depth of
mining will change, or the proper permits will be obtained to limit the impacts
to groundwater users.
K. Environmental studies of the site do not show the existence of any refuse or
toxic materials. It is not expected that these will be exposed during the mining
process.
L. Off site water damage is protected by the use of sediment ponds on the site to
insure that clean water is percolated back into the ground. The reclamation of
the mined area will be done to achieve usable area for industrial uses. The
grading will be done to allow for efficient drainage rather than soil stability
needed for seeding.
M. Materials will not be processed on site in the sense that there will not be any
screening, crushing or washing taking place. The material will be used onsite
for the production of asphalt and concrete. Once mined, the raw material will
be fed into an asphalt or concrete plant and mixed with other materials to
produce a finished product.
N. The primary commodity to be mined will be sand. This is expected to be the
only commodity removed from the site. The material is to be used in the
production of asphalt and concrete.
0. We do not expect to extract any incidental products from the site.
P. No explosives are planned for this project. All material will be removable by
use of a dozer, loader or excavator.
