It will be seeded when it is known that no machinery will be driving on
those areas to be reclaimed.
2. The gradient of reclaimed slopes will be 3:1 or less. If steeper slopes are required then the
slopes will be stepped into terraces to accomplish the desired stability for the vegetation.
The slopes are expected to follow the general slope of the existing lands.
3. All salvageable soil will be kept and incorporated into to work deck or used to replace
deplete quarry areas for reclamation purposes or put into soil stock pile as shown on map.
Soil Stock Pile, if left for more than a 3 month period, will be stabilized with a vegetation
cover.
4. The following measures will be taken to re-vegetate the site as they are applicable.
(a) The thickness of the plant growth should be equal to or better than the surrounding
growth to establish the quantity and quality desired. ( See Exhibit B Custom Soils
report for Larimer County Area, Colorado Meadow Hollow Quarry)
(b) The site will be seeded on an on-going reclamation program. Top soil will be
replaced and seeded as it is determined that an area is depleted and it will not be
disturbed by machinery. Seeding will be done in the spring and late fall. Top soil will
be spread onto the reclamation site; top soil will be spread carefully to allow oxygen
in and to prevent compaction.
(c) See Soil resource report in Exhibit B for types and amount of PLS/acre.
(d) The seed will be applied by hand broadcast.
(e) Trees will be replaced at 48 seedling per acre.
5. Trees will be place randomly or in a natural pattern over the reclamation area at the rate
of 48 seedling per acre. The trees will be planted by hand and watered for until they
become established.
6. There are no ponds, streams, or buildings in the permit area.
7. The existing roads will remain as they provide access to the land surrounding the permit
area and were constructed for that purpose.
8. The quarry access roads will remain in place at the time of reclamation.
9. The waste rock and tailings will be incorporated into the reclamation areas of the
depleted quarries. They also may be sold as rip rap, or used for working decks for future
building site. The area will be seeded into pasture until the building site would be needed.
10. There should be no hydrologic disturbance or off site water damage as the work deck is
porous and absorbs all run-off.
& lctado
