vii (Form 2 - Public)
3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiles, ad redistributed
for the re-establishment of vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
It is expected that 6 to 12 inches of topsoil will be salvaged from the exploration pad sites. This topsoil
will be stored away from areas of immediate activity. Exploration activities in an area are not anticipated
to last long enough to require temporary re-seeding of topsoil stockpiles; therefore upon completion and
closure of drill holes all available topsoil will be re-distributed over the disturbed pad sites to
approximate original depth Areas affected by temporal equipment travel (such as access roads), where
topsoil will not be removed will be ripped to relieve compaction prior to seeding.
4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment
procedures):
Exploration drill holes will be sealed in accordance with Section 5.4 of the Colorado Hard Rock/Metal
Mining Rule 5.
5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be reclaimed
(refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to
contact the Division for closure specifications.
Disturbed areas will be reclaimed by recontouring, reseeding with the BLM approved seed mix included in
number 7 (see below) and either hand raked in raked in with equipment attached to an ATV or grain drilled.
6. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting (or better) condition:
Roads will be reclaimed by recontouring, reseeding with the BLM approved seed mix included in number
7 (see below) and either hand raked in raked in with equipment attached to an ATV or grain drilled.
7. List the seed mixture to be used in the re-establishment of vegetation. See the attached seed
mixture calculation to obtain PLS/acre. For assistance with formulating seed mixtures and rates,
contact the local NRCS if on private land, BLM/USFS if on public land or State Land Board if on
state land.
A.
