vi (Form 2 - Public)
J. Describe anticipated relationship to surface water and groundwater (proximity to streams,
penetration of ground water aquifers):
There are no surface water bodies on or within l-mile of the proposed disturbance area. Small ephemeral
streams are present in the area that discharges to a small ephemeral stream located in Big Gypsum Valley.
These water bodies are dry during most seasons of the year. Groundwater has been encountered in the
Sunday Mine at depths between 600 and 650 feet belowground surface The estimated drilling depths for
exploration will be between 250 and 750 feet Based on this information groundwater will not be
encountered in most of the exploration activities
IV. OPERATION AND RECLAMATION MEASURES
1. The Board suggests that a photographic record of the pre-prospecting and post-prospecting
conditions be kept by the prospector. These photos should be taken from the same location and by
the same method to clearly show the pre-prospecting condition of the land and the reclamation
efforts. Upon completion of reclamation and request for bond or surety release, the Board may
consider the photos as evidence of adequate reclamation, and thus, be able to act more quickly on
the request for release.
Photographic documentation will be obtained by the mine personnel prior to and following exploration
activities A photographic documentation log will be kept at the Mine office in Egnar Colorado and at
Denison's office in Denver Colorado Photographic documentation can be provided to DRMS upon
request.
2. Provide a description of the native vegetation of the area to be disturbed, including tree, shrub, and
grass communities of the area. Color photographs, sufficient to adequately represent the ecology of
the site and adequately labeled (including date, orientation and location may be used in lieu of a
written description. Based on the quality of the photographs, the Division may require additional
detail.
There are two distinct vegetative compositions for the steep hillsides and valley floors located in the
exploration area The steep hillsides are dominated by scattered pinyon and juniper, measuring 4 to 8 feet
high Vegetative coverage is estimated to be 16% consisting of the following: 10% Pinyon-Juniper, 14%
Small Sagebrush 43% Grasses (including 60% Galleta 39% Indian Ricegrass and 1% Blue Gramma),
and 21% Russian thistle with the remaining 12% consisting of cactus Yucca Snakeweed, and other
miscellaneous forbs Vegetation on the valley floor predominantly consists of grasses with some
scattered shrubs and Juniper. Vegetative cover is estimated to be 15% consisting of the following: 51%
Russian Thistle 34% Grasses (including 62% Galleta 29% Blue Gramma and 9% Indian Ricegrass), and
4% Snakeweed with the remaining 11% consisting of Big Sagebrush Juniper Shadscale Saltbush,
Cactus and other miscellaneous forbs.
CADocuments and Settings\cwoodward\Desktop\Current TO DO\Sunday Misc\Sunday Phase 2 Exploration NOI & VH Amendment\NOI Form for Prospecting
Colorado - Form 2.doc
