Exhibit C - Mining Plan
1. Mining shall commence immediately and last up to 99 years.
2. All salvageable soil will be kept and incorporated into to work deck or used to replace deplete
quarry areas for reclamation purposes or put into soil stock pile as shown on map. Soil Stock
Pile, if left for more than a 3 month period, will be stabilized with a vegetation cover.
3. From 2" to 18" of overburden will be removed to reach the deposit. Once overburden is
removed the stone is usable immediately.
4. The depth of the deposit is between twenty to sixty feet.
5. This is an old existing quarry which was opened in the 1950's to early 1960's. It is known as a
pre-law quarry so the existing disturbance was not permitted. This is a long established quarry
and the color is used to match buildings at Colorado University in Boulder. This stone is light in
color with pink running thought it and golden stripping or spots.
6. The stone is quarried by front end loaders, excavators, and hand tools. Processed with hand
tools and sorted into flagstone, slabs, and blocks. Remaining material cut into strip-stone on a
stone cutter.
7. We expect to have 4.77 acres in open mining when fully developed
8. No water is to be used in this operation.
9. No ground water will be encountered and/or no surface water will be disturbed.
10. No water rights are involved in this operation
11. No refuse or acid forming or toxic producing materials are involved in this operation.
12. No off-site damage will result because the work deck will absorb run-off.
13. Stability of site will be obtained by using rocks in the soil replaces and seeding it at an
appropriate time of year.
14. No tailing ponds, heaps, or vats are involved.
15. The primary commodity to be quarried is dimension stone and the secondary commodity to be
quarried is flagstone.
16. Estimated closure of Quarry and reclamation is December 31, 2107
17. This operation will not be using any explosives.
18. No permanent structures will be placed inside the proposed permit area.
19. It is not anticipated that there will be periods of 180 days or more that the operation will be
inactivity.
