The rail crossing signs and flashing lights (for each approach <br />lane) shall be placed on a steel pipe with break away status, =he • <br />base shall be 30 inches in the ground and fixed so electric <br />wiring can be run inside of pipe to flashing lights, which shall <br />be mounted 1 foot above sign and controlled to come on only when <br />train is to cross the highway. The sign shall be 36" in diameter, <br />placed 750 feet from the automatic gates, be 7 feet tall from the <br />bottom of the sign to the edge of the asphalt and 12 feet away <br />from the edge of asphalt to edge of sign. <br />No passing lanes shall be installed East and West bound coming <br />into the tracks. Therefore there will be a double yellow line <br />going East from Hayden city limits to the rail crossing, then it <br />will switch to a solid yellow left and broken yellow right for <br />the next 900 feet. <br />The concrete bases for the gates (on each side of roadway) shall <br />be placed a minimum of 4 feet from the edge of asphalt and 12 <br />feet from the rail crossing. Mercury vapor lights shall be placed <br />6 feet from the edge of asphalt and 2 feet prior to automatic <br />gates to make crossing more visible at night. <br />One way traffic shall be maintained thru the construction area at <br />all times when rails are raised to meet the existing asphalt <br />surface and placement of signs and markings are being done. <br />Permittee shall make the crossing as smooth as possible to <br />accommodate snow plowing by maintenance forces. 41 <br />Attachments to this letter are: <br />83 <br />1.
