4. Conclusions
Utilizing the available information to model the Horse Embankment Dam resulted in a factor
of safety of 3.27 for the downstream slope of the embankment. These analyses were based on
average strength parameters obtained from indicated tests, conservative seepage conditions, and
an estimation of remolded strength based on the attached reference. Therefore, the Horse
Embankment will be stable as long construction practices used were consistent with those
detailed in the approved permit document.
As always, should you have any questions please contact Tom Leidich or me at (303) 763-5140.
•
Best Regards,
Montgogrery Watson
/ ,,
~ onald Mo
Associate Engineer
`~~~~~vv~vPQO'RE~~S ~~~~''.
.~SE.(F~,~~~s
dry ~~;;o,
_ ~~ 3145
~A. ~4r:
• ,.' ~v
• ~
Thomas E Leidich PE ~~~~~'i'SS,ONIpI nE~~\```\~
Supervising Engineer
• cc: File
