' (iv) See Section 2.05.6(3).
(v) See Exhibit A.
(vi) See Section 2.05.6(3).
(c) See Section 2.05.4.
C4) No public parks or historic places that are listed on the National
Register of Historic Places exist near the mine site.
(5) Surface Mining Near Underground Mining
Surface activities are further than 500 feet from the old Blue Ribbon
workings.
(6) Subsidence Control
• A subsidence survey of the affected area lying above the "E" seam,
together with conclusions reached from geologic and hydrologic data, indicate that no
structures (the mine facilities are below the "E" seam, a generator shed is at the
same elvation as the "E" seam near the outcrop) or renewable resources except wild-
life habitat will be influenced by mining. Examination of the surface overlying the
old Blue Ribbon workings, which are at relatively shallow depths of cover, show no
signs of subsidence. Maximum subsidence under the maximum cover of the planned new
workings indicates a possible subsidence of 1.6 feet which is unlikely to affect the
land surface. The 1.6 foot estimate is based on a review of site-specific geology
and hydrology and the Blue Ribbon operation plan. The review has been correlated to
wider experience for subsidence with similar criteria.
No structures exist over the coal seam (Exhibit C) and no renewable
resource lands exist within the affected area.
The only feature that needs explanation would be the ephemeral drainage
entering Hubbard Creek from the east near the northeast corner of the permit area.
It flows only in spring runoff (and occasional torrential rains).
124i (Rev. 4-16-82)
