in October 1981, corrective variations were anticipated in entry dimensions, mining
sequence, and pillar removal methods. It ie apparent the West facing coal ribs are
the moat stable since they are the high rib regarding the 4o NB dip and because they
are favorably oriented against the N 75° S face cleat orientation in the coal.
Future pillar splits will be laid out to take advantage of this favorable zib where
possible. Based on the October 1981 experience, the development panels have been
changed to a three entry system -- 100 feet a 100 feet centers.
The area nearest the outcrop will be mined, but the method will be
dictated by mining experience being obtained in the first half of 1982. This area
had been planned as a 4th North panel but, due to roof problems previously discussed,
the design ae a 4th North panel has been eliminated.
•

101 (Rev. 5/14/82)
