-. and mulching of the newly disturbed area to be performed soon after
• the regrading work is completed.
Minrec proposes to perform the repair work in mid to late September
with the regrading work competed no later than the end of September
1993. Seeding and mulching of the area will be done in late
September or early October.
STABILITY MONITORING
There are seven stability monitoring points which have been
surveyed quarterly since about 1985. The monuments are referred to
as S-1, S-2, S-3, S-5, S-6, S-7 and S-8. The face of the bench
slope has slumped three times since 1985, in 1988, 1989 and 1993.
After each of the slumps the stability monuments were surveyed and
no significant movement was noted. It is clear the stability
monuments are located on relatively stable portions of the mine
bench. No further monitoring of the stability monuments will occur
• unless there is visual evidence of instability on any portion of
the mine bench. If such visual instability is noted, monitoring of
the stability monuments will be re-initiated.
• 113ix Rev. 07-26-95
