The application cannot be approved until the following <br />inadequacies are addressed <br />1) Please describe how there will be no temporary stockpiles created during the mining process. Will material <br />be loaded into trucks and then be fed directly into a crusher? Will mining only be conducted on an as <br />needed basis that will not require unprocessed material to be stockpiled? <br />- Response adequate <br />2) Please clarify what depth of mining will take place within the wetland footprint. <br />- Response adequate <br />3) Please specify the approximate amount of topsoil to be stockpiled along the southern border of the permit <br />area within the process area. <br />- Map C-3 indicates that the topsoil stockpile located along the southern permit boundary will have <br />2H:1V slopes, page D-1 in Exhibit D states that the topsoil will be stockpiled with slopes no steeper <br />than 3H:1 V. Topsoil stockpiles should be constructed with sides no steeper than 3H:1 V to reduce <br />erosion potential and increase potential for successful stabilization through vegetation establishment. <br />Please revise Map C-3 to represent the topsoil stockpile with slopes no steeper than 3H:1 V. <br />4) Please provide the Division copies of all permits required by and correspondence with the LJSACOE that is <br />related to the proposed mining and reclamation in the wetlands in phases 5-7 and the proposed 38.71 acres <br />of wetland shelf. <br />- Response adequate <br />Office of <br />Office of Active and Inactive Mines <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand )unction Durango <br />
