The responses are listed in the same numerical order as presented in your
letter.
Rule 6.4.4 Exhibit D = Mining Plan
1. It is anticipated "based on recent and on going groundwater measurements (see
item 2 below) that ground water will be encountered in the southern reaches of
Phases 4 and 7. The outer perimeter-highwalls in these areas will be mined at no
more than a 2.5:1 slope. Where mining will occur internally and link with existing
mined areas there will be no highwalls. The maximum acreage of exposed
groundwater in the amended phases (4 and 7) is estimated to, be 7.4 acres. These
areas are shown on the attached Phase Map prepared by WWE in preparation for
a water supply plan. Please note the phasing for the water supply plan is not the
same as. the mining phases shown on Exhibit D.
2. The applicant has drilled 5 groundwater monitoring wells throughout the entire
property. Well # 1 is located in the northwest cornef of Phase 7.•Measurements
(depths to groundwater) taken since October of this year at this well site indicate.
very little variation. The applicant requests that should monthly background
measurements vary by less than one meter. over three quarters that mining be,
allowed to commence.
.
s
LAND USE PLANNING & PERMITTING
P.O.
